Nature Voices in Herman Melville’s Typee: The Cocoa-Nut Trees

The purpose of this study is to examine the representation cocoa-nut trees in Herman Melville’s Typee: A Peep at Polynesian Life (1846). With rise adverse effects environmental crisis and climate change, calls for action on environment due its status quo have attracted scholarly attention including literature lights humanities. Furthermore, writers used nature with diverse elements contribute into thematic narrative structure their writing. In specific, attempts through a close reading Typee analyze imagery from an ecocritical perspective.
